Kaya Köyü - Villa Rhapsody
Kaya Köyü (Karmylassos) is set in the quiet, idyllic Kaya Valley, an unspoilt farming community. The old setting of the village dates back to the 15th century. Greek people lived here in piece under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, the name of the village in that time was Levissi. The about 4200 homes have been deserted since 1923 after a population change between the Turkish and Greek governments. The houses remained empty all since that time. A severe earthquake in 1957 damaged the houses badly. That is why the village is now called "Ghost Village". The old village has two orthodox churches and several little chapels.
A beautiful walk through the village leads you over the mountain to the most spectacular scenery, you can discover the nature and wildlife that belongs to it.
